The Goulburn campus of TAFE NSW will open a new construction course this August in partnership with ACT developers Ginninderry. The pilot SPARK Training and Employment Initiative for Goulburn is built on its success in Canberra and Yass in vocational education. The 15-week program is delivered three days a week with modules in a combination of theory and practical hands-on learning and industry work experience. Successful participants will receive a Certificate I in Construction Pathways (CPC10111) and Access to Vocational Pathways (FSK10113) and a Certificate II in Construction Pathways (CPC20211). Training and employment manager at Ginninderry, Emma Sckrabei, said the program, launched by SPARK Ginninderry, was funded by Skills Canberra to expand it from Canberra, where it began in 2016, into nearby areas. Residents of Goulburn and district aged 16 years and over are eligible to apply for the course. Ginninderry is running the program in partnership with TAFE NSW, the Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre (SRBEC), the PCYC, Mission Australia and SPARK.
