Concerns have been raised over thefts from building sites in regional centres.
Master Builders Victoria believes supply shortages has left to thefts in areas including Geelong, Bendigo and Ballarat.
A fibre glass pool was recently stolen from a construction site in Wandana Heights, with police now investigating.
Melissa Greenall from MBV said supply had always been an issue, but the COVID pandemic had started to take a hold on the sector.
“We know that this has always been an issue for the building and construction industry,” she said.
“Most certainly over the last 18 months, with the impact of COVID and supply chain shortages, it’s really take hold.
“We’ve seen an increase in reports of thefts of products such as timber, white goods and copper across the regions.”
