A Melbourne tradesman said workers on Probuild sites were caught by surprise after it was announced the construction giant had collapsed into administration.
Subcontractor Nathan Bartlett was working on a Probuild site in the CBD when workers were told to down their tools.
“They just said, ‘yeah, pack your tools up today boys’ and ‘yeah, you’ve got to go to another job’,” he said.
