A portion of the Razorback Greenway in Fayetteville will be closed for about seven weeks to allow for continued construction of the cultural arts corridor, known as The Ramble.

The trail will be closed from Center Street to Prairie Street until May 6, according to Matt Mihalevich, the city’s trails coordinator.

Trail traffic will be detoured onto nearby Gregg Avenue (see map below), which is currently closed to through-traffic. Since Gregg is open to local traffic, trail users should be cautious of infrequent vehicular traffic. Plus, Mihalevich said the surface condition of some areas of Gregg are sub-optimal, so special care should be taken.

From a news release:

Traffic barrels will be used to warn trail traffic of adjacent work areas, where applicable. Walkers, runners and cyclists are asked to observe detour and other signs on trails and provide adequate distance between themselves and construction work.

The Ramble is a 50-acre planned outdoor public space which follows the Greenway from Dickson Street to Prairie Street. It will feature parks, a forest, trails, boardwalks, tree-lined sidewalks, terraced creeks and gathering spaces. The project is funded by a voter-approved $31.6 million bond issue.
